MESSAGE OF LOVE exhibit featuring DenthePen's poem-paintings, proclamations
and word works ran in the main lobby of a Borders Bookstore from February
2000 through April of 2003.
The exhibit went through various incarnations during its 38 months on the walls. The originals and copies were not for sale. DenthePen told a reporter for the Los Angeles Times, "Not everything in this world is for sale. I'm just trying to spread a little love around." Two copies were sold by year-long, tenacious patrons of the exhibit with the proceeds being sent to the Blind Children's Learning Center in Santa Ana, CA. The legacy of the exhibit according to DenthePen, "Daring, romantic types stole copies of my paintings off the wall." |
